The 20-inch Big Clear Housing Water Filter is a complete set that includes a clear housing, plastic wrench, screw, and metal bracket. This housing is designed to accommodate standard-sized 4.5-inch diameter by 20-inch whole-house filter cartridges, which are sold separately. The clear housing allows you to easily monitor when it's time to change the filters, ensuring your entire home enjoys better water quality from every tap and appliance.
Equipped with a pressure release button, this housing is suitable for high-pressure applications. The inlet and outlet are 1" NPT brass threads, providing a reliable and durable connection. The maximum operating pressure is 80 PSI, but it is recommended to use it under 50 PSI to ensure optimal performance.
The housing can be used in a wide temperature range of 40-110°F (5-45°C) and has a shelf life of 5 years. To prevent leaks, it's important to lubricate the O-ring with silicone grease and use the provided wrench for installation.
If your water pressure is expected to exceed 60 PSI at any time, it is recommended to install a pressure regulator before the filter housing to protect it from exceeding the maximum pressure rating.
This clear housing is a great option for whole-house water filtration, allowing you to see the condition of the filters and making maintenance easy. It's compatible with a variety of filter cartridges, including:
- PP Spun Filter: Removes sand, dirt, and sediment. Filter life: 6 months.
- Carbon Block Filter: Further removes chlorine, taste, odors, and fine particulates. Filter life: 6 months.
